Meet our friends and family who are walking down the aisle with us!

Kayla Smith

Maid of Honor

Kayla and Morgan first met when they were randomly paired for a project in a Rhetoric and Research class at Lee University. They hit it off right away—starting with the realization that they had the same Surface Pro laptop, and discovering that was the first of many things they had in common: same major, same love for Jesus, same passion for music, same type A energy, and the same sense of humor, and the list goes on and on. What began as a class assignment turned into a deep friendship marked by late-night study marathons and impromptu worship sessions under their favorite campus tree. Kayla is the kind of friend everyone hopes for—hilarious, intentional, wildly talented, and full of heart. She’s been one of the biggest blessings in Morgan’s life, and the bride couldn’t be more excited to have her by her side on the big day!

Cody McClendon

Best Man

Cody is the groom's older brother, who has been there since the very beginning. With a 5-year age gap, they basically grew up together, sharing the same room for the majority of the groom's childhood, and have shared so many life experiences. Some of those experiences include: flying home to Indonesia for Christmas to see family, spending 5 months of 2020 to grow closer than ever, and playing against each other in Downhill Domination as kids. He's been there for the groom at his highest highs and lowest lows, and has been my biggest advocate. No matter where they are in life, Cody and TJ know that they will always have each other. As soon as Morgan and TJ began wedding planning, TJ knew that he wanted Cody to be right by his side on his big day. The groom is forever thankful for a brother like Cody.

Catherine Chimley

Bridesmaid

Catherine is the bride’s longest-standing friend. Their story began all the way back in first grade. From childhood days filled with Mario Kart, outdoor adventures, and Alabama Rummy games, their friendship has stood the test of time and distance. Though most of their years have been spent miles apart, (she’s flying in from France, no big deal) they’ve always had that rare kind of bond that picks up right where it left off. Catherine has been a constant encourager, cheerleader, and one of the coolest people the bride knows.

Benito Rodriguez

Groomsman

Benito and the groom met their second day of new student orientation of their freshman year at Lee University, and have become the closest of friends. Since then, there have been many late night runs to Taco Bell, Call of Duy Warzone sessions with the boys, and deep conversations about family, culture and life. Benito is the kind of guy that will stick up for you no matter what, but also be the same person that humbles you when you need it the most. Benito's friendship to the groom runs deep, and they have become like brothers.

Rebecca Moye

Bridesmaid

Rebecca (AKA Becky) and Morgan first met over lunch at Chicken Salad Chick with Jordan to chat about living together. Somehow, despite all their mutual friends, their paths never crossed, and thankfully that changed! Now, they’re remote-working besties whose “office” rotates between their three favorite coffee shops. Becky and Morgan are also the ultimate party-planning duo in their friend group. She has a special gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued, and the two of them could yap for hours without missing a beat.

Brandon Akiona

Groomsman

Brandon and the groom first met in Lee University's Campus Choir, and formed a friendship that has lasted post-grad. Brandon is one of the funniest and most chaotic people you will meet, and you will better because of it. Not only is he an amazing teacher, but he is an even better friend. Brandon is an adaptive friend in the best way, where he will dance with you when you're feeling great, but will be with you as a shoulder to cry on when you're down. If you ever need a good reaction that will get a lot of laughs, Brandon is your guy!

Karly Duggan

Bridesmaid

Karly and the bride are cousins AND besties—the kind of pair bonded by family and a deep-rooted love for Taylor Swift. They’ve screamed lyrics in the car through every major life moment and once waited three hours on the floor of the Nissan Stadium bathroom waiting out a severe thunderstorm to see Taylor perform at the Eras tour. Karly’s energy is contagious, her support is loud and unwavering, and she’s been there through the awkward middle school years, the rollercoaster of high school, and all the college craziness. She’s also the resident TikTok queen—always ready to teach Morgan (and anyone else nearby) the latest dance, whether they want to learn or not.

Matthew Shepherd

Groomsman

Matthew and the groom lived on the same floor freshman year, but didn't become close friends until the following year when they became suitemates. Matthew is a joy to be around, a consistent friend, and will never turn down a gaming session with the boys. No matter how long it's been since they've seen each other, Matthew and TJ get right back into their laughing and goofing off. The groom cherishes Matthew's friendship, and is excited to have Matthew up there with him on this big day.

Sami Ninis

Bridesmaid

Sami and Morgan met while leading worship together at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. What started as a mentorship during Morgan’s middle and early high school years blossomed into a beautiful friendship that’s only grown stronger over time. They call themselves "sloth sisters" because of a long-running inside joke that few people understand—but trust them, it’s hilarious. Sami is thoughtful, kind, an amazing listener, and always offers the best advice. She speaks life over others every day and inspires the bride constantly. Everyone needs a friend like Sami!

Mason Tabor

Groomsman

Mason and the groom joined Lee University's Campus Choir the same semester, and hit it off right from the start. One thing about Mason that everyone can agree on is that he is genuine to the core. You will never catch him bad mouthing another person, and is a refreshing spirit to be around. Mason is a man that that is on fire for Jesus and will always be there for you. If you want to talk about the life of Dietric Bonhoeffer or the Lord of the Rings, Mason is your guy!

Sydney Snyder

Bridesmaid

Sydney was one of Morgan’s very first friends at Lee. They met in their Gateway class and clicked immediately! She is someone who sits with you in the hard seasons and celebrates the good ones like they’re her own. Her calming presence is the perfect recharge after a long day, and her goofiness brings so much light and laughter into Morgan’s life (especially with her top-tier H2O “Cleor” impression). You can always count on her to split a bag of popcorn and for just about anything else life brings.

Jesse Snyder

Groomsman

Jesse and the groom first met on a beach trip during Spring break, and over the years developed a strong friendship, and a strong tradition of giving the other a firm handshake with each greeting. Jesse is one of the kindest and most consistent people that you will run into, and offers help even before you can ask. He is someone that won't stop doing something until it's done (ask him about his running streak), and won't leave your side until he knows you are alright. If you want to know anything about Twenty One Pilots, ask Jesse!

Mary Alley

Bridesmaid

Mary and the bride met through PR classes at Lee and bonded as alto “Back Row Babes” in Campus Choir. But things really took off when they became roommates after graduation. Not only did they live together and work together, they STILL chose to hang out off the clock (true friendship). They’ve tag-teamed countless TV binges, mastered Overcooked on the Switch, and tackled the wild ride of post-grad life—sometimes with grace, sometimes with sweet treats. Mary is loyal, caring, funny, and always down for a Target run or a deep chat at midnight.

Zach Copeland

Groomsman

Zach and the groom became co-workers at Lee University's office of Admissions, and instantly hit it off! Zach is the kind of guy to offer a helping hand without being asked, and also someone who shares the best stories that bring a lot of laughter with it. Zach immediately welcomed TJ with open arms when he first started at Lee, and has become the definition of a "work bestie". If you have any car trouble, need fishing lessons or someone to discuss the church's need for youth ministry, Zach is your guy!

Jordan Lyon

Bridesmaid

Jordan and Morgan first became friends on a spring break beach trip and quickly became suitemates, then roommates with Becky joining their second year. Jordan is honest, genuine, and always good for a heart-to-heart. She's the kind of friend who shows up, speaks truth with love, and knows how to make you laugh even on the tough days. Her nails are consistently flawless, her pedicure company top-tier, and once, her mere presence got Morgan out of a parking ticket—after a state trooper called her a PYT. Iconic.

Malik Hill

Groomsman

Malik is a former co-worker to the groom, and was part of a trio created by TJ, Zach and Mailk called "Guys Night". Created out of pure friendship and closeness, Malik became good friends with the TJ in the short time after the groom started in the admissions office at Lee University. Known for his kindness and wisdom, Malik is a friend to all, and is always down to talk about his love for the Father, his catering business, and his wife Alena. You're truly missing out if you don't know Bishop Malik, what a guy!
