Ted and Morgan met in kindergarten at the Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia. They were school buddies until 2001 when Morgan's family moved. Ted's family then moved in 2004 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They reconnected via Facebook during college when a former classmate from Covenant shared pictures of their first and second grade classes. However, Ted and Morgan wouldn't go on their first date until 2020. Their first date was virtual - thanks Covid! Since then they have had many dates, trips, and camping excursions.
Morgan had planned an elaborate photoshoot to celebrate her and Ted's upcoming 30th birthdays. Ted secretly contacted the photographer and orchestrated his surprise proposal during the photoshoot. Morgan thought they were just taking some test photos in an outdoor space, but she turned around to find Ted on one knee! Ted then surprised her with a week long trip to visit their families and spend some time at the beach.
Historic Shirley has been a special place for Morgan, who has worked closely with the Carter family since their children were babies. Morgan met the Carter family through Westover Episcopal church and has come to love them all as family. When Morgan and Ted began wedding planning, Morgan knew she wanted to include them in the big day! The Carter children, Hill and Lela, will be serving as ring bearer and flower girl. Of all the adventures had at Shirley, this will be one of the most special to Morgan!
