Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The wedding will take place in Oak Island, NC. We will provide the venue address when we send out invitations.

What’s the best airport to fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Wilmington, NC, Myrtle Beach, SC, or Raleigh, NC. From there, you can rent a car and drive to Oak Island. Oak Island is ~45 minutes from Wilmington, ~1.25 hours from Myrtle Beach, and ~2.5 hours from Raleigh.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

No, we will not provide transportation. We recommend carpooling with other family members attending the wedding.

Can I bring other guests?

Answer

We’re holding a very small wedding. Due to the intimate size, we’re only able to host those listed on the invitation.

What should I pack?

Answer

Feel free to dress casually throughout the weekend, except for the wedding itself. We highly recommend packing a bathing suit, as the house features both a pool and hot tub. Since October weather in North Carolina can be quite variable, we suggest checking the forecast before you travel so you can pack accordingly.

What’s the wedding dress code?

Answer

The vibe will be beach semi-formal — think cocktail attire or business casual. No jeans and do not wear white please. We recommend avoiding heels on the beach.

Will the ceremony be on the beach?

Answer

Yes, weather permitting, the wedding will be held on the beach. Please check the weather before traveling and plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony to get settled.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during the ceremony. We have a professional photographer to capture every moment so we can unplug and enjoy! Feel free to take photos during the reception.

Will there be food/drink at the reception?

Answer

Yes. We will host the reception inside the rental house, and will provide food, drinks (including alcohol), and cake.

Are there other activities happening over the weekend?

Yes, please review the Schedule section of this website for additional information. There will be plenty of free time in the schedule, and we encourage you to explore the island on your own or in groups.

I forgot something at home. Where can I buy necessities?

Answer

There's a Publix and Food Lion located on the island. If you're looking for additional options, there are two bridges from the island that connect to Southport; it's a short drive to access Lowe's grocery store, CVS, and Wal-Mart.
