"Mate" of Honor
Madeline met Hoffy in 2015 during their freshman year at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. They spent many hours together watching How I Met Your Mother, and many early mornings (after a night of partying on campus, of course) cheering on Manchester United. Hoffy was, and still is, the friend that Madeline has depended on in the good times and the bad. He and Morgan became quick friends after a few visits to Loras and spending time together at the famed Drake Relays at Morgan's university! Some of our favorite moments with Hoffy have included AJR concerts, frozen Mike's Hard Lemonade in South Haven, riding the musky, splitting the G in Dublin on St Patrick's Day, helping him propose to his wife Lexi, and being in their wedding in 2024. Hoffy is one of Madeline and Morgan's dearest and most cherished friends. Because Madeline knew him first, she got dibs on him being her "mate" of honor! He truly has a heart of gold, and she couldn't ask for a better person to stand by her side.
Best Man
Miles is Morgan’s younger brother, all-time golf partner, best friend and now best man. Years of tense sibling rivalry in organized sports and bugging each other during evenings when homework needed to be finished have miraculously shaped Morgan and Miles into the closest of friends. Despite living many miles apart for most of the last 10 years, Morgan and Miles make every effort they can to play golf, watch movies and TV shows (Shooter and Shoresy are forever rewatchable), and just be together to talk about life no matter what travel is necessary. Miles has become a true bonus brother to Madeline over the past decade, during which they spent 3 years attending Illinois State University together, visited each other in Colorado and Missouri, and made each other laugh more times than either could count. Morgan is honored to have Miles standing beside him on his big day!
Bridesmaid
Madeline met Ariella on a work training trip in Moab back in 2023. They instantly connected when they found out that they were both moving to Boulder, CO that spring! Thanks to Ariella, Madeline and Morgan found community in a new state. They were introduced to new friends through shared adventures while camping and hiking. Madeline loves that Ariella is always down for an ice cream treat, and that a new adventure is always right around the corner when her dear friend is involved.
Bridesmaid
Madeline and Morgan met Brooklyn on a camping trip in the mountains thanks to Ariella! We have spent the last 2 years spending time together on camping trips, meeting up at breweries for game nights, getting together for gals crafting nights, and hiking local trails.
Bridesmaid
Madeline and Morgan have known Catherine since their days at Homewood-Flossmoor High School! They became especially close in their later college years, and somehow even closer after she convinced M&M to move to Boulder in 2023. Without Catherine, who knows where Morgan and Madeline would be today. She is such a dear friend that has been there through thick and thin. She is always willing to lend an ear, head to the creek with her dog Appa in tow, or listen to a Hozier album on repeat.
Bridesmaid
Madeline swears that the universe conspired to bring her Darla Thomas! Madeline and her friend, Kyla, went to an avalanche safety course in early 2024. Thankfully, Darla and her husband, Jonah, also attended. The rest is history! After countless game nights full of belly laughs, post work walks/trots, camping trips, unofficial book clubs, and most recently: a 10K, Madeline couldn't be more grateful to have Darla in her life and to have her standing by her side.
Groomswoman
Ella is Morgan's youngest sibling. She is one of the funniest people that both Madeline and Morgan know. If you need a laugh on the wedding night, you know who to find! One of Morgan's earliest memories with Ella was when Grandma Marilyn drove him and his brother, Miles, to the hospital to meet their new baby sister. He remembers holding her for the first time and thinking that she was so tiny! He also fondly remembers the traditional "older-younger sibling" battles, but coming out on the other side of their adolescence as best friends. Morgan also loved watching her thrive as a musician in the Marching Illini and as a researcher through her studies and work at U of I and CalTech.
Groomsman
Jack is one of Morgan’s oldest friends; their friendship started when they were in same St. John’s preschool class and only grew stronger as they attended the same public schools all the way through graduation from Homewood-Flossmoor HS in 2015. From playing soccer and volleyball together on their school teams, to poker nights and canoe trips with their friends during college, to nights of barhopping in Chicago’s Wicker Park, Morgan and Jack have always made the most of their time together. Morgan also credits their mutual suffering as Chicago sports fans as a strengthening factor in their lifelong friendship. Morgan is grateful to have Jack by his side on his big day!
Groomsman
Jonah (and his wife, Darla) came into Madeline’s and Morgan’s lives in January 2024 when Madeline met them at an avalanche safety course hosted by Rock Mountain NP. Since then they’ve enjoyed hiking & camping together, meeting up for Dungeons & Dragons sessions, and having the best game nights with their friend group, where Jonah is responsible for causing at least half of all the laughs produced each night. A mutual love of the outdoors, exploring unique Colorado experiences like the Bolder Boulder 10k, and sharing a love of fantasy books, games and culture are all things have drawn Morgan and Jonah closer over the course of their friendship. Morgan is very excited to have Jonah standing with him on the big day!
Bridesmaid
Here is another dear friend that Ariella brought into Madeline's life! Kyla is always down for an adventure, has some of the quickest wit Madeline has ever known, and is so talented with her professional writing and her crafting on the side! She knows how to pick us up when we're down, and we're so grateful to have her with us on our special day!
Bridesmaid
Madeline and Morgan have known Lexi since 2015 when they met Hoffy! Madeline was Lexi's maid of honor in August 2024, and now Madeline can't wait to have Lexi by her side. Lexi has such a great sense of humor, so there's no shortage of laughter when they're together. Lexi has been there for both Madeline and Morgan through so much in the last 10 years, and is such a compassionate person. M&M love spending time with Lexi and Hoffy playing Sushi Go in Wisconsin with their beloved cat, Dewey.
Groomsman
Morgan first met Logan in his finance and accounting classes at Drake University and they’ve been best pals ever since. Their mutual love of golf, fondness of nerdy finance memes and appreciation for Midwestern culture have kept their friendship strong while living in different cities after graduating college. Morgan is proud to have been a groomsman in Logan’s wedding to his wife, Ashley, in 2021 and is thrilled that Logan will do the same for him this summer!
Officiant
Ryan is one of Madeline's older cousins (#5 of 18 of us!) on the Hallahan side of the family. Madeline and Ryan became very close towards the end of her college years. M&M have loved going to see Ryan perform at venues like the Steppenwolf, Writers Theater, and Northlight Theater! Ryan is charismatic, loving, and so well spoken that he was the obvious choice for out officiant. We love Ryan's sense of humor (his posts online and quick wit keep us laughing long distance), and his big heart. Madeline is grateful to call him her cousin, and M&M are so happy to stand at the front with Ryan leading the way on August 1.
Flower Girl
Leona and Madeline became quick friends after meeting in one of their favorite places: South Haven, MI! Leona and her brother, Simon, were pen pals with Madeline throughout the last year. They were all counting down the days until South Haven 2025! This year became very special when Leona became “flower girl”! We are SO excited to have Leona leading the way down the aisle on our big day.
