Morgan and Mac met in the fall of 2019 while Mac was out in Austin with some of his basketball teammates from West Point. It was no surprise that their group ended up on west sixth street at a bar called The Ranch. The Ranch was no foreign territory to Morgan who had been tearing up the dance floor every Friday or Saturday during her time at The University of Texas, and that was exactly what she and her friends were doing the night Mac and his friends were out. The two spotted one another from across the bar, but it was no surprise that Mac was hesitant to approach Morgan. As his friends drifted away to catch their Uber, Mac threw up a wave, and to his surprise, Morgan excused herself from conversation, walked up to him, and greeted him with a firm handshake and her number. Mac texted right away, but Morgan was preoccupied with Texas football and in no rush to respond until the next week when the two planned to meet for their first date. Soon they were spending every weekend together or meeting in Georgetown for dinner dates during the week. The only silver lining to a global pandemic starting in the spring of 2020 was Morgan being able to spend more time at Fort Hood with Mac before his deployment to Afghanistan in June. 5 months trudged by, but Mac returned to Texas after flying himself back to the US, and the two knew that this was the beginning of forever. Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2020 were split between the two families, and Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Zamen were ready to start planning a wedding! There were many opportunities for Mac to propose, but he was set on having all members from the both families there to celebrate. A week before Thanksgiving of 2021 Morgan and Mac helped Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman make their big move from California to Texas in a three car caravan. After a few days, they finally made it to Georgetown, Texas where they were greeted by Mac's older sister. On Thursday, both families enjoyed their first Thanksgiving dinner together, and the next morning Mac was getting down on one knee in front of the Littlefield Fountain at The University of Texas before the Texas Vs. Kansas State football game- the very same college football matchup from the weekend they met in 2019.
