We met through mutual friends! I still remember my friend's then boyfriend coming up to my window at Bruster's ice cream shop asking me if I was still single. We were quiet on our first date. Lou bravely took me home and met my parents that night. He then asked me when he could see me again, it just so happened I was free the next night! We went and saw a movie, after we spent probably a good two hours sitting in his truck outside of my parent's house just talking. He then looked at me and said "I think this could work." I didn't know how right he was in that moment.

It was Memorial Day weekend and we were surrounded by some of our best friends and our perfect boy, aka our dog. We spent the morning out on the lake, which has become our little weekend gateway. After coming back, we were getting ready to start cooking dinner. I was distracted by our friend, who had no idea what was about to happen, he was showing me pictures of his DIY projects on his camper when Lou said he needed to talk to me. I remember turning around seeing everyone gathered on one porch thinking, saying aloud, how weird this was. Lou then went into a speech, which I would have never expected, got down on one knee and I lost it! I ugly cried while shaking my head yes. I could not have picked a more magical moment!
