Morgan and I met one another in high school. His brother Mason (and now best man) served as an excuse for him to be my knight in shining armor and sweep me away from band camp. Our first date was a romantic feast over the Lord’s Chicken at the local Chick-fil-A. Over the past five years, we have grown better together as we navigate schools, jobs, family, friends, and our future.
Morgan and I are avid nature lovers and have taken many hiking journeys in Tennessee and Florida. We love the state parks and hope to visit them all in our lifetime. Our first hike was at Edgar Evins State Park and ended with an amazing view from the tower. Little did I know, 5-year Morgan had promised his Grandparents that one day he would propose from that same spot. In October 2019, he did just that…..complete with a gourmet picnic of bologna & cheese sandwiches and Cheetos. He sure knows the way to my heart! Our ties to the state parks continue with our selected wedding venue of the Cedar Forest Lodge at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park. It is a charming cottage of wood and rock built in the 1930's. It's a perfect spot for our small fall wedding.
Morgan and I will defer our honeymoon until January 2022 due to work schedules. But, we are super excited to spend a carefree week at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, Florida. We are also saving to build a house on our piece of heaven on Sponaugle Hill, his grandparents farm in Gordonsville, Tennessee. If you haven’t already, feel free to connect with both of us on Facebook or Instagram to keep in touch.
