One dreary day locked in her office with no windows and horrible fluorescent lighting, Morgan was sitting at her desk attempting to cram for her second bar exam while also juggling a full time job. In walks her supervisor with a very smiley, overly happy new employee. Meet Kai. Morgan wasn’t having it. This wasn’t helping her learn the Rule Against Perpetuities! Then she gets assigned to train Kai in a courtroom she was never assigned to work. Luckily, Kai kept his smile and his good attitude and crushed his appearances. Fast forward a few months later and Kai still has the good attitude and smile. Eventually that (plus his charm) convinced Morgan to give the guy a date. Six hours, three restaurants, and two bars later, Morgan realized, “Hey, this guy is pretty cool.” It also helped that he laughed at all her jokes and he let her rant for several minutes at a time. He also didn’t mind the copious amounts of food she ordered and the messy manner in which she ate it. Morgan realized she had something pretty special in Kai after that date. Kai realized he saw something special when he saw Morgan’s grumpy face in her office on that dreary day. But Kai has always been a quick learner.
