Dear Family & Friends, With everything going on in the world today, we have decided to make things official. On August 11, we finally received our marriage license and were married in front of the Albemarle County Circuit Court. We plan to have an anniversary celebration in the future when it is safer to do so. We will send an update with the details as soon as possible. Hoping everyone is safe and well. With Love, Morgan & Justin
We've been spending most of our days at our lake house on Lake Anna, VA. For the first time in several years, we both have tans. When we're not working on our laptops, we're out on our boat, exploring the lake, learning to wake board and surf, or swimming and paddle boarding with our clan of four Boston Terriers. In the evenings we're trying family recipes, playing cribbage, and listening to our parents' old records. Being at the lake and gaining additional daytime hours from not having a commute has afforded us the opportunity to reconnect with nature. We've started a small tomato garden, grown cosmos and dahlias, revived our collection of indoor plants, and made the hummingbirds happier with a regular supply of sugar water. Our next project will be starting a butterfly nursery. Though we miss connecting in-person with family and friends, we've been lucky to have been on the lake, feeling somewhat "on vacation" and being reminded of the benefits of being outdoors. We're looking forward to a time when we can hopefully see everyone again more regularly, but we will always appreciate all of the extra time we've had together.
Our house in Falls Church, VA is still under construction. We had a couple of setbacks last year and this year and chose to spend our free time this summer outdoors instead of in grout. But, we're hoping to turn our focus to the remaining projects beginning this fall when the weather changes. We'll have the downstairs bathroom, kitchen, and basement ahead of us. This summer we put in a stone walking path at our lake house from the house down to the dock, for those of you who hated our mulch path! Oma, this one is for you. <3
