We met while working together at Sylvain in New Orleans — JR was the head chef, and I was the “hostess with the mostest.” We always enjoyed talking at work, but our story really began on Thanksgiving Day in 2019. After finishing our shifts that night, we decided to grab a drink at Bayou Beer Garden. At the time, JR didn’t drink, so he sat and watched me enjoy a sour beer instead. Thankfully, he kept coming around. We spent the pandemic together in New Orleans before eventually relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, for school. One of the most special moments in our relationship was my first Christmas trip to the Philippines, where I met the Antonino's and truly learned what they means when they say Filipinos do it big for Christmas. Our engagement went off without a hitch… unless you count JR choking immediately after he said yes and me having to perform the Heimlich maneuver. So far, our relationship has survived 1 pandemic, 4 moves, school, a choking incident, an elbow dislocation, multiple jobs, and countless adventures — all while growing in love together. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter and share our special day with all of you.
