We officially met a few years back while running 911 calls together. I remember getting so excited when I would arrive on the scene of a call and see Josh was already there. He was always the sweetest, happy-go-lucky, type of guy with the world's best smile. A bad day at work was always instantly eradicated when he showed up. Over the years, we remained acquaintances and ran into each other here and there at work. One day, I received a FB message from Josh asking me about a Europe trip I had just gotten back from. He was going on the same trip so I gave him a few suggestions. His trip came and went but our conversations continued. A few more weeks of talking, we finally planned our first date. The rest is history!

One of our favorite dates has always been sunsets at the beach. So when Josh told me he wanted to take me on a picnic at the beach, I didn't think anything of it. The morning of our beach date, we woke up to a downpour. That downpour never died down and it continued to monsoon the entire day. I kept asking Josh what we were going to do instead of the beach since the weather was so awful, and he INSISTED the weather would be just fine. We left the house to head to our beach date, driving through the pouring rain, with Josh still insisting the weather would clear up. I was so confused as to why he was so adamant we try to go on a beach date in the middle of a dang hurricane, but I tried to go with it. By some grace of God, as we pulled into the parking lot, the rain completely stopped, and the sun came out. We walked onto the beach and I saw a blanket, a bouquet of flowers, and pedals going down the sand. My heart dropped and I knew at the exact moment, my life was about to change. Josh told me to turn around and when I did, Josh was on one knee. Just when I thought that moment couldn't get any better, I noticed all of our family behind us. We celebrated on the beach with champagne, lots of tears, and the happiest of hearts.
