We're getting married!

Bermuda Dunes, CA. Christian School of the Desert - now Desert Christian Academy (thank you for your service) While we met in 5th grade, our love story started in 7th when we dated for roughly a month or two. At the time Jill wasn't so sure, so she broke up with Morgan via email! The two then became good friends - keeping in touch on and off for the next 13 years.

Instagram. Jill posted a story on Instagram that Morgan had ironically said the exact quote she posted the night before! So he let her know how funny that was through a DM. ⁣⁣Next thing you know, they had talked for a month straight! Jill lived in Minnesota at the time and Morgan was in California. He expressed to her that he likes her a lot and if they were going to have any shot at this, especially being long-distance, he had to go see her. So, he booked a flight the next weekend! They hit it off right away. Then Morgan flew back and they talked for about a month again until lockdown hit. After some thought, Morgan then proposed the idea of actually moving out here permanently for one year, to which they agreed “would either be the worst idea we have ever had, or it would end in marriage.”

Morgan knew Jill loved being by the water and he also knew that whenever a proposal happened - she wanted it to be special, in the moment and just the two of them. Morgan and Jill had arranged to have dinner with their friends in Laguna Beach one Saturday night. Jill was driving up from San Diego and Morgan was being very curious about what time she was getting there, how far away she was etc. (things Morgan never asked before). When Jill was about 10 minutes out, Morgan texted her saying there was a wait at the restaurant and she could meet them at a nearby park (not suspicious at all). When she got to the park their friends said they had to take a phone call and they’ll be right back (also, not suspicious…). Morgan asked Jill if she wanted to walk down a path, which led to an overlook where you could see for miles down the beach. They talked…and then Morgan grabbed her hands, spun her around, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
