Our favorite dinner spot in Burlington
Enjoy food and drinks at Splash on Lake Champlain!
Idletyme is a great spot in Stowe to hangout outside on the patio and enjoy a few beers and cocktails.
This is our favorite brewery in Burlington! Such an awesome atmosphere and it is right across the street from Lake Champlain. Tip: Grab a few growlers of your favorite beer to take home!
The Von Trapp Family (as in the sound of music), ended up settling in nowhere but Stowe Vermont. We highly recommend trying their Austrian-style lager at their family owned brewery. You can also drive a mile up the road and visit the Trapp Family lodge where there is often live music and family activities happening all summer long.
Directions: From Smugglers Notch, head 10 minutes South through the notch as if you are driving to Stowe. Continue approximately 0.5 miles past the Mt. Mansfield Toll Rd and you will notice two large parking areas on either side of the road. Stay on the trail for about 5 minutes before reaching the river.
The 150-year-old Auto Toll Road is a 4.5 miles long gravel road that reaches a peak elevation of 3,850 feet. You’ll get an awesome view of the White Mountains, the Adirondacks, Lake Champlain, and the Green Mountains. On a clear day, you can get a glimpse of Mont Royal in Quebec. But before you get there, there are three stops on the way to give you a break from the zigzagging road and to take some pictures. And once you’ve made it to the top you get to try one of the trails including the Cliff Trail, Long Trail and Canyon Trail that climb up another 550 feet and stretch for 1.5 miles.
The Waterbury Reservoir is a great place to hang by the water and or rent SUP board/kayaks.
Rent some bikes or take a walk on the Stowe Recreation Path! The Stowe Recreation Path is an internationally recognized greenway stretching from Stowe Village to Top Notch Resort on the Mountain Road. Residents and guests alike enjoy the 5.3 mile paved trail as it criss-crosses the West Branch of Little River. Breath-taking mountain views and access to restaurants, lodges and local businesses make the bike path one of the most popular recreation assets in Stowe.
Golf! At Stowe Country Club
Stowe Mountain has a ton of activities to offer, choose one of many hiking trails, take a gondola ride to the top of Mount Mansfield and zip line your way down, or maybe try out the aerial ropes course.
Our favorite place to mountain bike! Cady Hill Forest is STP’s flagship trail network; its diverse terrain, great views, easy access from Town and the Stowe Rec Path, and trails that cater to just about any level of rider make it one of the most ridden trail networks in the northeast. Renting bikes is easy from AJ's Ski and Sports, or Pinnacle Ski and Sports both located near Cady Hill. The parking lot is located about a mile down the road from Harvest Market (an awesome place to grab a snack) on the right. Highly Recommended!
