Morgan's Version: I met Jason one cold Seattle day in February 2017. I was with my best friend, Maria Rau, and we thought we were just going to visit our friend, Riley Michel, for one of our typical Saturday bar-hopping nights. But, when we walked into Riley's living room, I saw this handsome, smiley, 6'6" guy and was instantly interested. Jason initially seemed afraid to talk to me until I finally decided to sit next to him on the couch. Highlights from an NBA game were on the tv and I struck up a conversation about Lebron James and my love of basketball with Jason. He was surprised by my sports knowledge and we quickly bonded over basketball and his past with playing it in high school and college. After our couch convo, we were asked to play beer pong and I confidently asked if Jason wanted to play with me. He shyly looked at our other friend, Taylor Rau, and said he was going to play with him first. Let's just say, I beat Jason and Taylor (without much, if any, help from Riley) and I truly think that was the moment Jason knew he couldn't let me go. He needed me to be his forever beer pong partner. After seeing each other for a couple months, we made it official in May 2017 and the rest is history. Jason's Version: Morgan did a good job of covering the first night we met above, but I better remember the 6 weeks after that night before we went on our first official date. Despite my persistent efforts, we couldn't find time to get together for a date and I was close to calling it quits after what felt like my 100th attempt to see her. On my last attempt, we were able to meet for a short date at Little Water Cantina in Seattle. Morgan showed up, fresh off a plane from Palm Springs, and, as I greeted her, she got out of her car in her nike slides, ran around to her trunk, and put on her fancier boots. That was the day when I really started to get to know her and understand her funny quirks, nikes slides and all. I immediately knew I met someone special... and, actually, so did this couple sitting next to us at the restaurant who asked us how long we had been married. They were shocked to hear it was our first date but I like to say they saw what I saw and also somehow predicted our future.
