Although we both grew up in South Florida knowing mutual friends, we didn’t meet until we were both in Orlando for College. One day I was invited to hang out with my roommate at a friend’s apartment. Jake walked in and I wondered who he was and if I would get a chance to know him. From that day on we saw each other almost daily until he surprised me with flowers at my door on Valentine’s Day and we went on our first date that night.

We had plans to go to our favorite park, it looked like it was going to rain so I suggested we go another day but Jake still wanted to go. On the drive it started to drizzle, and I noticed he appeared eager to get there before the rain. We started walking our normal path until I noticed a beautifully set up picnic ahead and we were walking straight towards it. Surrounded by white lights, flowers and pictures of our nine years together, he got down and asked me the easiest question I would ever answer.
