Although we've known each other since we were in Elementary, we rarely interacted because we were in different grades. But my senior year of college, we ended up meeting in New Orleans to hangout with a few friends and family. We went to a few clothing stores where we saw that we had similar interests in styling. Having continuous conversations about what items we liked. Later that night, we were on Bourbon having the time of our lives. The next day, we went out to get food and noticed that Jacarie's tire had a boot on it. That was a wild day. Ha! After paying to get the boot off the car, Jacarie drove us back to Hattiesburg. I sat on the backseat with my friend & told her that I thought he was CUTE. Who knew she would tell him? But I am happy that she did. We exchanged numbers when we made it back and I purposefully left my food in his car. A few hours later, I texted him and told him that I left it in the car by mistake. (I wanted to see him again) He told me that I could pick it up from his friend's house. I did and after that day we continued to have conversations. As time progressed we were talking everyday. I truly enjoyed talking to him. It felt like a breath of fresh air.
I don't think I have ever shared this with anyone. . . After growing closer with Morgan, I literally prayed that Morgan would be my final destination. I grew focused on my future and who I would look to be the love of my life. In many ways, I looked at Morgan as a female version of myself. A leader, a lover, passionate, genuine, and a "go getter". Year after year of our love, we overcame MANY challenges. Together we've lost love ones, moved 6 hours away from home, as well as survived a pandemic together to say the least. We've also gained certificates, degrees, and have been promoted in both of our careers. I say all this to say, we stuck together and grew not only as individuals, but lovers too, keeping each other going. I've always known she was HOME for me and I know she feels the same way. Upon expectation of our daughter, I knew there was nothing left to be unsure of. " She's gorgeous, strong, intelligent, fly, and the mother of my child. She's always had my back". Day of the Baby Shower, I said, " God, if you allow me to pull this off of buying a ring, I receive your instructions and will obey ". Now after this long story I just sat and told "ya'll", this relationship and soon to be marriage was founded by God. He sent me a beautiful soul and told me to trust in him. This is demonstration of how good he is.
