The two met in Honors General Chemistry and one day Gil suggested a study group. They continued as mutual acquaintances for a few years occasional seeing each other at group settings and online. Everything changed when Morgan broke her elbow, posted an Instagram and Gil asked to catch up over coffee and offered to carry her backpack on campus.

After a casual coffee date at the campus Starbucks, a Pho date at Miss Saigon was set. Morgan was in a full arm brace doing her best to eat noodle soup, but just like the human vacuum he is, Gil offered to finish it for her... not realizing she couldn't herself. After dinner the two of them went downtown for ice-cream, went on a walk and watched a scary movie with friends.

On Gil's 24th birthday, Gil took Morgan ring shopping. Morgan made sure her nails were done for every party, trip or potentially photographable outing for the next 5 months until her guard was down. After getting pedicures together, Gil convinced Morgan to get her fingers done as well. Not thinking anything of her suggestion to go on a Gates Pass picnic, Morgan was surprised that instead of snacks, she was presented with a ring. Of course Leif was there to complicate things, photobomb and eat snacks as well.
