Fernanda and Morgan have a mutual friend, Nic, who was Fernanda's roommate at the time. Morgan and Nic were hanging out together and decided to make dinner at Nic/Fernanda's place. In the middle of cooking, Nic asked Morgan if they could make extra for their roommate Fernanda who would be home soon since Morgan was really the one cooking and Nic was more or less in charge of keeping the wine glasses full. The three shared a delicious meal with lots of laughs. Fast forward 6 months or so, Nic set Fernanda and Morgan up on a date. What a memorable date it was…. Morgan ate wasabi (something she does not like) to impress Fernanda during Sushi dinner... in the bliss of the moment when Morgan paid for dinner she was given another customers card back in return and didn't notice... ice cream dessert almost didn't happen because every place was closed so a Wendy's Frosty it was... hours of talking at park well into the night resulted in both Fernanda and Morgan getting parking tickets... after all that they both left the night unsure of how the other felt. That did not last long, the following week they talked or texted almost every day until the wee hours of the morning. As they say the rest is history!

M: My orignal plan was to propose in Argentina. Maria (Fernanda's sister) had told me about the church where their parents got married and I was tossing around the idea of proposing outside of that church. F: If you know anything about me, it's that I'm not traditional. I thought it would be great to not be traditional in our wedding or marriage as well. So, I suggested we get married while in Argentina. M: Of course this messed up everything for me. Fernanda still wanted me to propose and make it surprise and now there was a definitely timeline quickly approaching. F: When Morgan suggested going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo I had no idea it would happen there. One of our first dates was to the Denver Zoo. Morgan LOVES all animals and I love elephants so it seemed like a perfect date. Plus, a couple of friends were joining us. M: I was freaking out. The two friends joining us had a text code with me, they would send a "test text" talking about borrowing Cards Against Humanity. If Fernanda had my phone she wouldn't suspect anything. If I had my phone, I could tell them it was safe to talk about the plan. F: The weekend before the zoo we had brunch with Stacy and Nora. I didn't know at the time, but Morgan had brought the ring for Stacy to hold onto. As we were leaving, I ran back in because I forgot my phone and almost caught them looking at the ring. M: By now I thought I was in the clear. I had my plan, we were going to enjoy a day at the zoo with friends and I'd propose during our behind the scenes elephant encounter. F: When I learned that Morgan planned for us to feed and help train elephants I was so happy for my "Christmas Gift" I didn't think anything more of it. M: The two weeks leading up to this moment I had been trying to memorize my speech in Spanish. As the moment approached and all eyes were on me I froze. I handed Fernanda my speech, got on one knee, and quietly asked "Te queires casar con migo?"
