No tour of Columbus is complete without a visit to the Book Loft, making it our second stop of the big day. Grab a coffee next door at Stauf's and prepare to spend a while perusing this magical book store's 32 rooms packed with every genre imaginable.
Next, we visited Akai Hana for an early dinner of sushi and beef bulgogi. Before we went inside though, Eddie mysteriously insisted I wait in the car for a few minutes. Turns out he had secretly enlisted one of his soon to be Best Men to meet us there. They picked up a cake from my favorite bakery next door and he took it home for us. I didn't have a clue!
With a surprise cake on its way home for my birthday the following the day, we stopped at Belle's after dinner for dessert. We've tried nearly everything at this point and loved it all, but some of our favorites are the mango mousse cake, raspberry white chocolate mousse cake, cheese dome, curry donut, and strawberry buttercream bread!
Our last stop for the day before heading home was supposed to the Columbus Zoo to see the Christmas Wildlights. The weather had other plans though, and freezing rain sent us home early. But from there you know the story from our home page!
