The Wedding Website of Morgan Bak and Carter Johnson
Question

How We Met

Answer

Carter was living life, riding horses and working in Fort Worth after he graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2019. Morgan graduated from South Dakota State University in the spring of 2023, and decided to head south with her college roommate to move to the big city of Fort Worth. Carter and Morgan had been going to the same church and would see each other here and there. In January of 2024, Carter and some of his friends decided to start a band. They were looking for a lead singer, and Morgan had previously mentioned that she sings - her amazing talent made it a no brainer for the band, she was in! Their relationship slowly started to form over their hours of band practice, gigs, group gatherings and church events. After about 6 months, they realized that the hours of quality time together and singing into the same mic had made them want to be more than friends. They started dating and never turned back!

Question

How He Proposed

Answer

January 2025 - Carter and Morgan flew to Morgan's hometown for the weekend to celebrate her grandma Sandy's 80th birthday. Carter had previously asked Morgan's dad for his blessing over the phone weeks prior, and again in person the day they landed. He wanted it to originally be something he did in person, but living across the country from her family made this a challenge. On Morgan's grandma's birthday, the whole family gathered at grandma's house after church. Carter turned on her grandma's favorite song and two-stepped with her in the living room as everyone (except Morgan) knew what was happening next. As the song was ending, Carter got her grandma's permission to ask Morgan an important question. She said “of course you can!” and Carter got down on one knee to ask Morgan to marry him in her favorite place, surrounded by her favorite people.
