Turns out that Cade and I grew up less than an hour apart, but it wasn't until we were both in Laramie for college that we actually met. The summer after my freshman year of college, my roommate at the time had a guy from her high school who she thought I would hit it off with! So on a late September night after a weekend of Cade hunting, we started talking and Cade would probably say I haven't stopped since! It didn't take long until we were inseparable, my family started to love him more than they love me, and I knew he was the only one who could bring me back to my roots.

I am always looking for an excuse to go on vacation so for Cade's Valentine's Day present I planned a trip to Deadwood with my sister, Hope, and a couple of Cade's best friends (and now groomsmen)! I have always wanted to visit Mount Rushmore so we went up to explore and do touristy things. Cade asked to go by a trail and take a picture. Looking back I should have known something was up because Cade never asks to take a picture. Here, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After a solid minute of ensuring he wasn't joking, I said YES! We were lucky enough to be surrounded by friends during our proposal and to have it all on video thanks to Hope eavesdropping a week before when Cade asked my mom for permission! Best secret she has ever kept and one of the best days of our lives thus far! ;)
