Hotel
We will provide for your accommodation at the Marriott Suites in Pune, India from Dec 26th to Dec 29th morning (three nights). At check-in, please let the reception know that you are a guest of our wedding. Accommodation will be in shared suites with living rooms, allowing for spaces to get together and socialize, (and practice for the Sangeet!). All events will be within the hotel, except for the Sangeet on Dec 27th evening, which will be at the Hyatt Hotel, a short ride from this hotel.
Travel Note
The Sangeet will take place at the Hyatt Pune, and we would like all guests to be there by 6-630pm. The event will start promptly at 630pm. Shuttle service would begin by about 5-530pm. We recommend going earlier. Alternatively, if the shuttle is full/late, which it probably will be given we are shuttling 120+ people between the venues, you can get an Uber or find an auto rickshaw (three-wheeler) outside the hotel. The ride is only about 10-15 mins +loading/unloading time. Click the view button below for the google map route.
Travel Note
Use the Uber app to take you to Marriott Suites Pune. The "Intercity" feature will allow you to book a cab to Pune. Do this after picking up your luggage and passing through customs, from inside the airport. You will have to go to a designated floor in the parking building - you can ask your way around if you can't find it. As you can imagine, the pickup area is quite a mess, so be patient. The option without internet may be easier.
Travel Note
1. Pick up your luggage and pass through customs. 2. Before exiting the main doors of the airport, you will see a bunch of stalls for prepaid taxis and tourist travels. Go up to any of them (not the Mumbai local taxi stall) and ask for a taxi to Pune, Marriott Suites hotel in Koregaon Park. 3. The cost should be around ₹3000-6000 depending on the type of car, number of people and luggage items. Get a car with AC (air conditioning). 4. They may charge a small booking fee and a late night fee. 5. You can pay using credit card usually. If not, find an ATM (within the airport, don't go outside). 6. They will print you a receipt, with the license plate number of the car you will travel in, and tell you where to go to find the car. 7. Only then exit the airport, and find the car with the exact plate number. 8. Drive on to Pune! Tolls will be extra, pay the driver directly. The toll for Mumbai-Pune expressway is about ₹250. Note: Do not entertain solicitors outside the airport doors.
Travel Note
Use the Uber app to take you to Marriott Suites Pune. The "Intercity" feature will allow you to book a cab to Pune. Check out the link below, it includes a discount code. Browse the site if you want more information. You can pay by cash directly to the driver. You can also use this other provider I use if you can't get Uber to work, called ECabs. Send a Whatsapp message to +919833769166, saying you need a cab to Pune. They will ask you your contact info, pick up location, time etc, all through Whatsapp. You can pay by cash directly to the driver. They may connect you to some other taxi provider called Dex Travels or something else. Either way, note that tolls will be extra, about ₹250, paid directly to driver as well.

Ask your hotel to arrange for you, or find a travel agent office.
Travel Note
Traveling by train is a great option from Mumbai to Pune if you are feeling adventurous. The ride is three hours and is beautiful and fun. On Dec 26th, head to Mumbai CST (Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus) station by 8am or so, find a ticket counter, and book a ticket for any train to Pune Junction on non-AC (non air-conditioning) 2S (seater) or SL (sleeper berth, although the berths will be seats in daytime). There's plenty of trains. Enjoy! UPDATE: It may help to book these tickets even 1-2 days in advance. If you are in Mumbai on 24th or 25th or prior, head to the CST station (its a beautiful station to visit anyways, and also where Slumdog Millionaire's song was shot) and book your tickets.
Travel Note
If you have internet on your phone: Use Uber to Marriott Suites Pune. From either airport or train station, it should be less than ₹200. If you don't have internet on your phone: Find a prepaid taxi counter. I think they have one at the train station too but I am not sure. If not, just find the taxi station outside. Fares should be less than ₹200. If you are feeling adventurous, go outside the airport and find the auto rickshaw (three wheelers) stand. With luggage you may only be able to fit two people per auto. Fares should be cheaper than taxi, and I think there is a prepaid stand. We will also have 2-3 cars on standby to shuttle guests from the airport / train station to the hotel. We will give you further details about them on the Whatsapp group.
