We met each other during our freshman year of college at the University of Central Arkansas. Morgan was living in Baridon 108, I was living in the brand new Bear Hall (don’t worry, it didn’t see much of us, I can’t even remember the room number.) Her suitemate was a mutual friend through my sorority. I came into their shared living space with my BRIGHT red hair, loud as can be, ready to dye our friend’s hair. Morgan knew at THAT moment that I was something else. We slowly became friends and one night in the library as we talked about life and what we had experienced thus far. That was the night/morning where we both knew that we had some special connection, one that neither of us were expecting. After that night, there has never been a day when we haven’t communicated; y’all can figure out the rest. Our love has grown and flourished over the past 4 years, we can’t wait for forever! -Alyssa & Morgan
The day of our engagement was absolutely AMAZING! It was our 3 year anniversary. The day started with a funny movie with just me and my honey. A few of my friends had been in cahoots with Morgan and we decided as a group that we would do a collaborative celebration for our anniversary that night, but also a fun friend date because one of them was “sad.” We chose to go have a fun night at Dave and Buster’s! We go to Dave and Buster’s per the plan, sit down for some adult beverages, and go on to play some games. Weirdly enough, I felt like everyone was staring at me. We go to play games and earn some tokens, and my friend is like “WE HAVE TO PLAY SPACE INVADERS!” Meanwhile, I’m looking at this machine, which appears to be OFF, OUT OF ORDER. I say, “Hey I think that machine is broken???” Just as I say that, the manager comes up, tells us he can start it up. All the meanwhile I am thinking, “Why are we getting such special treatment???” We sit down to play the game... I am BLINDED by a BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT. When my pupils adjust and I can finally see, I see the words “WILL YOU MARRY ME??” Listen, I am floored. Looking around to see who the lucky lady is and realizing that it is ME. I AM THE LUCKY LADY. Morgan had managed to contact the manager of the Dave and Buster’s, who was thrilled to help set it all up for us. The employees were just watching and waiting (hence the staring.) I was in such shock, disarray, and surprise. My baby really GOT ME. I was so excited I was just shaking! It was more perfect than any proposal I couldve ever dreamed of. Morgan is so perfect for and to me. -Alyssa
The day, for me, started out completely normal. I woke up, went to work, got off and went to my second job. I thought Alyssa had been asleep most of the day because I hadn't heard from her much. Closer to closing time she texted me and told me to tell her when I was headed home (not abnormal for us). We had also discussed my ring and when the finances for it were coming in (she still totally picked it out and everything) and I was not expecting any kind of ANYTHING until May or July. However, my dream girl completely tricked me and I fell right into it. Anyway I texted her when I left and headed home. When I was walking down the stairs she ran out the door and BLINDFOLDED me! At this point I still had no idea what was going on I just figured it was one of her crazy date night plans or something. So she guides me in the house and takes off my blindfold and there was a makeshift constellation on the ceiling and the wall, she even hung a light up moon in the corner. A video with her voiceover started playing, and you would THINK at this point I would be catching on to her plan her but she never lies and I was still positive this was just a really cute date she had planned. The video plays and pictures and videos from the past 3 years of our journey flash on the tv "under the stars". A little over halfway through I was sobbing and it dawned on me that THIS COULD BE IT. I really couldn't believe it. The video ended, she reached into the couch cushion, pulled out a jaw dropping ring, and asked me to marry her. My low-key romantic heart was exploding. It was truly perfect. I can't wait to spend forever with you. -Morgan
