Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Morgan Musselman and Jace Oleson
Here are some of our favorite things to do and see around DC. NOTE: The federal shutdown means the Smithsonians are closed, but don't fret there is still plenty to do!

Dupont Coffee Collective

1909 Q Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

A great local bakery & coffee shop near the hotel!

Freshfarm Dupont Circle Market

1600 20th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

On Sunday mornings, there's a huge farmers market in Dupont with produce & food vendors. It's great but gets busy, so if you're interested in going, go early!

The National Museum of Women in the Arts

1250 New York Ave NW, Washington, DC 20005

The world's only major art museum solely dedicated to championing women artists. Great exhibits and a solid gift shop!

Lost City Books

2467 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

Our favorite bookstore!

Planet Word

K Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005

Our favorite DC museum :)

The Phillips Collection

1600 21st Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

America’s first museum of modern art. In Dupont, so easy to get to from the hotels! Not a Smithsonian, so it's still open to visitors during the shutdown

Eastern Market

225 7th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

If you've ever visited us in DC, there's a good chance we've taken you here. On the weekends, this place is full of local farm-fresh produce and handmade arts and crafts vendors. The neighborhood is a great place to walk around if you want to see some beautiful old homes, too. In October, many homes in this neighborhood are decked out for Halloween.

Folger Shakespeare Library

201 East Capitol Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

The world’s largest Shakespeare collection. Not a Smithsonian, so still open during the government shutdown!

YELLOW Georgetown

1524 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

One of our favorite bakeries. A great place to head in the morning, grab a few delicious pastries (but expect a line!) and walk around Georgetown.

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

The perfect activity if you're bringing little ones with you to DC (or if you just love zoos)! The zoo is free, and in beautiful Rock Creek Park. Our personal favorite area is the bird house!** **The zoo is closed due to the government shutdown.

National Mall

Washington, DC

The part of DC you probably saw on your 8th-grade field trip to the Nation's Capitol. Our favorites: The Lincoln Memorial, the MLK Jr Memorial, the National Gallery of Art* (where our elopement photos were taken!), the National Air and Space Museum*, and the US Botanic Garden.* *These are all closed due to the government shutdown.
