My college roommates and I were throwing a new year's eve gathering at our house. Nick - an impromptu attendee who tagged along with a friend of a friend - caught my eye the second he walked in the door (I guess you could say it was love at first sight). My interest was solidified when our beloved cat, one of the sassiest I've ever met, let Nick hold her calmly like a baby! Once Nick discovered our mutual interest in GIS, he didn't leave my side the rest of the night! We've been inseparable ever since.

On the first night of our vacation with my family in Siesta Key, we all went out to see the drum circle together. At some point around sunset, someone suggested our baby nephew, Owen, wanted to go for a walk on the beach. Completely oblivious, I was all for this idea and led the way! Before we could get too far down the beach, I turned around to see Nick down on one knee! At first completely shocked and in disbelief, I quickly came to my senses and said YES! We embraced and I never wanted to let go!
