Similar to many couples these days, John and I met on the dating app Bumble. We had been messaging for a week or so before planning to meet up for an official date. I almost bailed that evening because I wasn’t feeling well, but something in me said to go for just an hour. Well, that one hour turned into four and we have been together ever since!

John and I arrived at Leu Gardens for what I thought was an outing with his coworkers. As we were walking through the gardens, John tried with all his might to take a photo of us (despite my crankiness over the Florida heat). He asked, what I thought was a random woman, to take a photo of us. She whipped out her professional camera, John got down on one knee, and I exclaimed with the easiest “yes!” I’ll ever make. On our way to dinner, John explained that we needed to stop at his friend’s to let her dog out in exchange for the proposal photos. We arrived and to my surprise, all of our close friends were there and had fully decorated the entire place! It took me a minute to understand that they had rented an Airbnb and had been in on the proposal for weeks! It was by far the best night of my life.
