Walt Disney World® Resort
If you've never been, it's a perfect opportunity to go! September sees a significant drop in tourists and the weather is remarkably better for wandering around the parks. Our favorite rides/experiences are (1) Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom, (2) The Food & Wine Festival in Epcot - drink around the world, and (3) Magic Kingdom's fireworks - which Julia & Patrick watch nightly from their balcony.
Universal Studios Florida
Similar to Disney, it's a great time to hit the parks. Known for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Minions, Jurassic World, and Halloween Horror Nights, this park is quite the thrill. The rollercoasters are more intense than Disney and there are arguably more adults. If you're on a budget, check out CityWalk - the free area with restaurants and bars. Just beware, parking before 6pm is expensive. I'd uber!
Clearwater Beach
If you're looking for the BEST beaches, you can find white sand, low tides, and magnificent sunsets in Patrick's hometown - Clearwater, FL. If you head a little more south, you'll find St. Pete Beach - Julia's FAVORITE place in Florida.
Cocoa Beach
If you're looking for the CLOSEST beach, Coco is only 45 minutes from the airport (MCO). It's an amazing beach, bigger waves, and boasts the space coast. NASA often launches rockets - check out their schedule to see if one is launching while you're in town. Local's hack: Ron Jon Surf Shop has free parking by the beach.
Bok Tower Gardens
If you'd prefer a quiet leisurely stroll, Bok Gardens is 10 minutes from our venue! Bok Tower Gardens is a 250-acre contemplative garden and bird sanctuary boasting gorgeous views, impeccable landscaping, and thoughtful architecture. We took a stroll when we were hunting for a venue and it's truly breathtaking.
The Wine Room on Park Avenue
Winter Park is one of our favorite places to spend a date night. If you like trying different wines or cheeses, head to the Wine Room. Great wine, wonderful cheese boards, and a fun experience. Just make sure you get there before the crowds start to roll in around 6:30.
Lake Eola Park - Sunday Farmer's Market
Enjoy the farmer's market in the middle of the city, by the lake, every Sunday 10AM - 3PM.
