Grace, a Connecticut-native and UConn Lacrosse alum, ended up in Boston after school, where she spent her time with friends, skiing, running, and planning her next adventure. In March 2020, she accepted a job with a tech company called Outreach and flew to Seattle for what was meant to be a four-week training program - and ended up being a trip that started the rest of her life. Connor grew up in California and ran track at the University of Washington, which is what first brought him to Seattle. After graduating, he joined Outreach, too. On Grace’s very first day at the office, the two met during her new-hire tour. Connor followed up, organized a happy hour for “the new sales rep,” and invited Grace to go skiing that weekend. The ski plans quickly changed when COVID shut down the ski resorts. Instead, Connor suggested getting out of the city for a hike. What started as a simple day outdoors turned into something special: they hiked, shot clay pigeons (Grace’s first time!) and ended the day playing cards over dinner. The only twist? Connor had invited his friend Blake - originally as a potential match for Grace. (Sorry again, Blake!) In the weeks that followed, they spent those early lockdown days running, playing tennis, and bonding over a shared love of cribbage. A couple of weeks after meeting, Grace decided to stay in Seattle “for a year to try it out,” and shortly after, adopted Finn, their golden retriever. Later that year, things became official in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where Connor’s parents live, after his mom, Janet, lovingly introduced Grace as “Connor’s special friend.” Since then, they’ve built a life full of adventure - skiing across North America, road-tripping with Finn, celebrating holidays coast to coast, and becoming part of each other’s families. Grace, once a dedicated pescatarian, now proudly enjoys whatever Connor brings home from his hunting and fishing trips - elk, venison, striper, crab… even duck! In September 2025, Connor pulled off the perfect surprise proposal. Pretending they had been spontaneously invited aboard a Stancraft yacht, he threw Grace off any idea that a proposal might be coming. As the boat cruised along Lake Coeur d'Alene, Connor got down on one knee in front of both sets of their parents, who were there cheering them on from ashore. According to Grace, both Connor and the captain deserve an Oscar for pulling off the perfect surprise! Now, Grace and Connor couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the next chapter of their adventure together. Fun fact: they both still work at Outreach! & here's their best boy, Finn 🤍
