Moraya and Rami met on October 17, 2015 – there was a birthday party held for Fuad, Rami’s older brother in Communication Hill. Moraya came to the party with her cousin, Nina. Rami was attending Sonoma State University at the time, and wasn’t planning on coming, but decided to surprise his brother by driving over. And so, a love story began. When Rami initially walked into the house, he said hello to everyone – but couldn’t help to notice Moraya. He made his way around the room and ended up next to who came to be his future wife. Rami and Moraya spoke for hours and chatted and laughed as though they knew each other for their entire lives. In each other's company, a connection formed that went beyond words with a silent understanding that spoke volumes. From that unforgettable party onwards, as the years passed, their friendship strengthened. Over the course of a few years, Rami and Moraya fostered their connection and friendship. They stayed connected via social media and text, bonding over their love for music and their shared experience as first-generation Palestinians. On December 7, 2018 they ran into each other at a Christmas choir performance in San Jose, marking the first official meeting of the Najjar and Sousou families. Trusting his intuition, Rami invited Moraya to join him the next day for Fuad and Arlette's wedding on December 8th, 2018. They went and had the most incredible time, dancing, laughing and enjoying each other's company. Moraya was able to meet Rami’s grandparents that flew in from Palestine for the wedding. Reflecting on it now, it almost feels like the universe was giving its nod of approval, setting the stage for something remarkable to develop between them. It was also quite special for Moraya to say she witnessed the marriage of her now brother and sister-in-law. Almost a year later, Rami was living and working in San Francisco while Moraya was in her senior year at St. Mary’s College of California. Rami invited Moraya to join him as his plus-one at his best friend Nima and his wife Michelle’s wedding on October 6, 2019, where he was a groomsman. Everyday, Moraya's feelings for Rami deepened, but as she saw him walking down the aisle in his suit, his eyes sparkling with charm, something stirred within her, and she realized right then and there that he was the one she wanted to spend forever with. Shortly after, they began dating officially and were inseperable. Moraya applied to study abroad in Spain early on in their relationship, Rami tagged along to make sure she was all set in Seville. She graduated from college a year later and moved to San Francisco to start her career in software sales. Their love story continued as they got to know one another greater and on November 5th, 2022 Rami got down on one knee and proposed to Moraya. Fast forward two years later and now they are on the brink of their greatest adventure yet as Mr. & Mrs. Najjar.
