Well, it might sound scandalous but Alex and Becca met in the workplace (insert winky face!). Alex was one of a group to interview Becca for a job at a literary management company in LA (where they reside together with their puppy, Gracie Lou). Although it took a while - Becca thought Alex was intimidating, and Alex thought Becca talked on the phone too much - the pair became dear friends, spending a ton of time together. Romantic Sidebar: There was a night early on in the friendship, in a PF Chang's (yes, the home of romance) with their shared best friend Devon, during which Becca disclosed a bit about her battles with mental illness, taking the trust between them to a new level. Alex cites this night as, "the night I knew I was going to take care of this girl forever." A couple years later, Alex was brave enough to admit that she had fallen in love (with Becca). At first, Becca was adamant that she didn't share these romantic feelings, that she was straight (lol, now we all know it's a spectrum). She claimed she was certain she only saw Alex as a best friend, but promised to maintain her loyalty and support of Alex and told her that nothing had to change. Well, here's the funny thing about being "certain" - certainty is an illusion, and love is so much stronger than we realize. Love can thrill us, awaken us, and most of all, surprise us. And boy oh boy was Becca surprised to soon find that she too was actually quite interested in exploring the romantic side of her and Alex's relationship. A bond that could, and still can be, characterized by honesty, empathy, support, dedication, openness, humor, flexibility, and acceptance transformed into something different, something absolutely undeniable. Their relationship grew and grew until their two lives intertwined to become a life shared. They champion each other, support one another, and quite frankly, see the other as capable of grabbing whatever it is she wants in this life. They've shared a home since the start of Covid, they've owned two dogs (a sweet elderly German Shepherd that they loved and lost, and a young mutt puppy that has turned their lives and their apartment upside down). They both work in entertainment; Alex is exploring her passion for TV as a producer and development executive at a production company, and Becca still works in literary management as an assistant while she works to uncover her passion. The couple took quite some time to find their spot in the sun together, but boy is it now bright - through the good times and the very challenging. To love, and to a VERY fun wedding.
