We met in 10th grade and became friends. Nick always made me laugh (he also had a crush on me during this time), but he also annoyed me. As high school graduation came, Nick helped me one last time, and when I wanted to wish him well for college, he vanished. I felt sad as I did not get a chance to say goodbye to him. Years later, we found our way back to each other in college when my advisor accidentally placed me in Spanish 1, and to my surprise, we were placed in the same class. It felt like no time had passed, and our connection came back naturally, but this time, feelings changed. I finally confessed my feelings, and to my surprise, he still had feelings for me. So a big win for me. Our journey together has had its highs and lows, but we have always stuck by each other, and I am so excited to begin this new chapter of our lives together.

It was during a trip visiting Nick's dad in Youngstown, New York. On our last full day, after being drenched from the short kayak trip, the sun finally came out after the storm to make a beautiful sunset. Nick brought me to this beautiful park right on the edge, and he showed me Toronto across the ocean (beautiful sight). I became curious as to why Nick was carrying around a backpack because he never carries a backpack unless going on the bike. He then started to set up his phone against his backpack. I did not understand why, but he was determined to set it up! Then Nick started talking about not losing any more time, how much I mean to him, and then gets down on one knee. Everything around me just melted, and I was so choked up that I wouldn't verbalize an answer, so I had to nod yes! It was seriously magical! Thankfully, Nick recorded it, and I get to rewatch that moment all the time!

Sucedió durante un viaje donde visitamos al papá de Nick en Youngstown, Nueva York. En nuestro último día completo allí, después de haber quedado empapados tras un breve paseo en kayak, salió el sol para regalarnos un hermoso atardecer. Nick me llevó a un precioso parque situado justo al borde del agua y quiso que viera la ciudad de Toronto al otro lado del lago. Entonces, comenzó a colocar su teléfono apoyado contra su mochila. No entendía por qué lo hacía, pero él estaba decidido a dejarlo bien posicionado. Luego, Nick empezó a hablar sobre no perder más tiempo y, acto seguido, se puso de rodillas. Todo a mi alrededor pareció desvanecerse; estaba tan emocionada y con la garganta tan anudada que no logré articular palabra para responder, ¡así que tuve que limitarme a asentir con la cabeza! ¡Fue verdaderamente mágico! Afortunadamente, Nick lo grabó, ¡así que puedo revivir ese momento una y otra vez!
