The Battery is a beautiful stretch along downtowns southern tip. It's definitely a must visit, and all you have to do is walk around! The battery has rows of mansions overlooking Charleston Harbor. You can visit White Point Garden as well as the 12-acre Waterfront Park (which is where the giant pineapple fountain lives, very popular in instagram pictures). We'd also recommend walking to Rainbow Row.
Walk along King Street, the main hub of Charleston. King Street is 3 miles long and cuts through the center peninsula of Charleston. It has tons of restaurants, bars, boutiques and gorgeous houses.
The Charleston Museum is one of the oldest museums in the United States. Its highly regarded collection includes historic artifacts, natural history, decorative arts and two historic Charleston houses. As far as museums go, it's not stuffy or old-school.
The Southern Live Oak tree "Angel Oak: is a historical site and focal point of one of the City of Charleston's public parks. It is considered to be the largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi estimating to be 300 to 400 years old. It's a drive away, but is a very instagramable tree.
High Wire is known for being Charleston's first distillery since prohibition. For a full tour of the distillery floor, you can make a reservations. Or, you can just walk-in and opt for an abbreviated tour from the comfort of their bar stools.
This is a particularly great option if you are staying at the Dewberry Hotel! Citrus Club is the highest rooftop venue in Charleston, serving small plates and cocktails to adults only (21-and-up). You don’t have to be a guest of The Dewberry Hotel to access the it, but you will need to check in with the concierge by the elevator to receive a temporary keycard granting you access to the roof.
