Question

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues? Are they wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) in St. Michaels Maryland. The address is 213 N. Talbot Street, St. Michaels, Maryland 21663. Much of CBMM’s 18-acre waterfront campus is accessible, with the exception of the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse, upper decks of the Boatshop, Mitchell House, the lower level of Oystering on the Chesapeake, and the Mill Street walk-through gate. CBMM’s walkways are unpaved and consist of gravel and stone pathways and boardwalks. Please note that CBMM does not offer wheelchair rentals. We will have directional wedding signage at the venue site to help you find your way.

What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue?

Answer

We will be providing transportation to and from the venue for St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina & Spa as well as the Best Western Plus Easton Inn & Suites. Transportation from the Harbour Inn will be via private water taxi or, if you prefer, the hotel can provide shuttle service by land. We will provide a private shuttle service to Best Western in Easton. If you are driving to the venue, there is plenty of parking located by the CBMM Welcome Center. Please be advised that there are no rideshare services in St. Michaels.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be held outside at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, (CBMM), at the Tolchester Beach Bandstand. The bandstand was originally located at Tolchester Beach, a resort town and amusement park established in 1877, just north of Rock Hall, in Kent County, Maryland. The cocktail hour and reception will also be outside at CBMM on Navy Point, though the reception will be tented. Navy Point was the former site of Coulbourne & Jewitt Seafood Packing Company, a legendary Eastern Shore business in the first half of the 20th century. If we experience inclement weather, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held inside the Small Boat Shed on the grounds of CBMM.

Answer

We have reserved blocks of rooms at the St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina & Spa located at 101 N. Harbor Rd., St. Michaels Maryland 21663. Also, the Best Western Plus Easton Inn & Suites located at 8708 Alicia Dr., Easton Maryland 21601. What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Summer Black-Tie: Men - We ask that men wear a tuxedo. Does not have to be black. Women - Wear a formal floor-length or mid-length dress. Please be mindful of shoe choices for these outdoor spaces! Feel free to add pops of texture and color to your formal wear. Have fun with it!

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

June, the first month of the summer in Saint Michaels, is a warm month, with an average temperature ranging between max 80°F and min 66.6°F. We will be located directly on the water so there is a possibility of a cooler breeze in the evening hours.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation has "and guest" on it, then we would love to have both you and a guest. If not, then we have only planned to seat you.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

As much as we love children, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice means you can make other arrangements for your children, have an evening out for yourselves and celebrate with us.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions, we will work with our caterer to provide you with a suitable alternative.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4:00pm so please plan to arrive by 3:30 pm. If you are utilizing the shuttle system, please pay attention to the time of departure from the hotel as this will have an impact on the time you need to be ready. We would love for you to arrive early to enjoy our special music and the scenic views of our venue. Set on a private, 18-acre campus, with over 2,000 feet of waterfront in the village of St. Michaels, CBMM offers spectacular views of the Miles River and an exquisite array of Chesapeake scenery and textures.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after party?

Answer

While we would love to celebrate with you late into the night, the town of St. Michaels restricts us to a 10:00 pm ending. There will be no official after-party, but feel free to keep the party going at one of the few bars that stay open late in St. Michaels, Carpenter Street Saloon.

Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?

Answer

All of our guests are invited to join us for a welcome cocktail party on the evening before our wedding. Please visit the Schedule page to see the details regarding this event. Also, please plan to join us for brunch on the day after our wedding to continue our celebration! Information can be found on the Schedule page.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

While we appreciate that you would like to commemorate our special day, we ask you to kindly turn off your ringers during the wedding ceremony and refrain from taking photos. We have professional photographers on hand to capture all the special moments and are excited to share their photos with you. We would prefer you to sit back and enjoy the ceremony.
