How We Met

Encouraged by their friends and family, Joe and Katelyn ventured into the world of online dating. A progressive female centered dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel, encouraged Katelyn to feel comfortable both talking to and meeting potential life partners. With the simple goal in mind of finding their perfect match, Joe and Katelyn joined the complicated world of online dating. They eventually matched with each other, and Joe began pursuing Katelyn. “Online dating was scary but I knew when our first date lasted for 8 hours we were starting something worth while….”—Joe

The Proposal

It was perfect! It was thoughtful! It was romantic! It wasn't a surprise. Between Katelyn's inquisitive mind (aka her being nosey) and Joe's excitement for the proposal, a few key pieces of the puzzle were revealed that led Katelyn to pinpoint when it was happening. While, she never wanted to or even tried to figure out what Joe was planning, she did know the day it was going to happen. Katelyn and Joe pulled into her parents' garage to find a sign with her name on it and the proposal adventure beginning. Next to the sign was a Disney themed card. It was filled with Disney love quotes and hand colored Disney princesses. The card contained elegantly written words of love, puzzle pieces, and instructions to the next station. At each of the following stations, a similar scene appeared. A path of rose petals framed the walkway to each of the card's locations. At the very last station, Joe was waiting for Katelyn. Beautiful rose petals, candles, flowers, and a decorative J & K sat on a beautifully arranged table. A personalized puzzle also awaited her. She filled in the last six pieces of the puzzle that were contained in the cards she received at each station. The last six pieces said, "Will you marry me?" Joe then took Katelyn's hands in his, said a few last touching words, got down on one knee, and asked if she would marry him. Of course she said, "YES!"
