Shannon Airport

We suggest flying into Shannon Airport since it’s just about 15 minutes from Dromoland Castle and 25 minutes from Ennis. No need to rent a car unless you want to do some extra exploring. There are plenty of taxis at the airport to get you to your place. So if driving in Ireland sounds a bit intimidating, don’t worry you’re all set! Dublin Airport

Many cities offer direct flights to and from Dublin Airport, Ireland’s largest international hub. From Dublin, there are a few options to help you reach Dromoland Castle and the surrounding area: Car Rental: A great choice if you’d like the freedom to explore scenic towns and countryside along the way. Train: Ireland’s rail network connects Dublin (from Heuston Station) to cities and towns on the west coast, including Ennis and Bunratty. From there, local taxis or transport can get you to your accommodation. Bus: Several bus companies offer routes from Dublin Airport or city center to the west. Buses run regularly to Ennis and nearby towns.

Just a 15-minute walk from the Castle, The Inn at Dromoland offers a comfortable and convenient stay for our guests. We’re happy to help with any questions about your stay. In addition to our reserved room block, there are many nearby B&Bs, hotels, and Airbnbs if you’d prefer alternative accommodations. If you’re exploring other options, we recommend Bunratty, the village where our night-before celebration will be held. It’s a charming, walkable area with pubs, shops, and great food close to many B&Bs and Airbnbs. You may also want to consider Ennis, a larger and lively town. Both Bunratty and Ennis are conveniently located just 10–15 minutes by car or taxi from Dromoland Castle. You truly can’t go wrong with either option, and both make for an easy and enjoyable stay close to the celebration.
