Matthew and Heather were very strategically introduced. Matthew's older sister, Amanda, worked with Heather and thought the two would be perfect for each other, but she patiently waited for the perfect timing to play cupid. A few months later, she invited Matthew to a cabin party that Heather was also attending. They completely hit it off that weekend and had their first date at Suttree's on Gay St. a couple of weeks later - the rest was history!

Matthew had planned a vacation for him and Heather to Montana, notoriously known as his favorite place in the world. Heather initially had some suspicion that it could be "the trip," but Matthew did not skip a beat in trying to throw her off at any possible opportunity. While there, they hiked The Highline trail in Glacier National Park (which was an 18 mile hike). About 4 miles in, Matthew took Heather away from the other hikers and picked a spot on the top of a hill overlooking the mountains, which we later found was called Haystack Butte, and popped the question!
