Alex and Katie met the old-fashioned way… on a dating app. Specifically, Hinge. Their first date wasn’t exactly one for the record books. In true post–first-date debrief fashion, Katie called her sister Michelle and said, “I don’t know, it felt like a job interview… but he’s cute!” And just like that, their story began. By their second date, things were looking up. Katie was running late, so Alex grabbed a whiskey and mixer from a nearby bodega and told her to meet him in the park. “You can’t go to a comedy show sober… and you definitely can’t go to a free one sober,” he said. They shared a park bench, a few laughs, and started to see the spark. From that date on, they rarely went more than a few days without seeing each other. Three years later, they’ve moved three times, made two cross-country leaps, visited over 10 National Parks, traveled to Italy, India, and Spain, and started their billiards era. They credit their love of nature and devotion to family and friends for the life they’re building together. In September 2025 at the same park from their second date, they got engaged! They can’t wait to celebrate the start of their marriage with all the people they love.
