Go back to where it all began, our very first date spot! Try Loe’s favorite, the espresso martini, and settle in for a cozy cocktail (or mocktail). It’s the perfect place to sip, read a book, or play a board game with friends.
This is where our first date ended. The music was amazing, but we hardly noticed. We talked until closing time and stayed in the parking lot until 5 AM. Looking back, we probably knew then that this was going to be something special.
Start off with Des and Loe’s favorite appetizer, the Spinach Salad (trust us, it’s a must!). Then treat yourself to the burnt ends and beans or the cheesy potato bake for some seriously satisfying comfort food.
If you're new to Kansas City, the Jazz District is a must-see—rich in both history and charm. Explore the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, catch live jazz at The Blue Room, and check out some of the local shops that make this area so special.
One of our absolute favorite restaurants in the city! La Bodega is perfect for sharing tapas, sipping sangria, and lingering over a long, delicious meal. Make sure to try Des and Loe’s go-to order, the Paella Mariscos. It’s rich, flavorful, and truly unforgettable. Whether you’re on a romantic date or out with friends, this spot always brings the best vibes.
If you’re in the mood to get dressed up and feel fancy, The Mercury Room is a must. With floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of downtown KC, it’s the perfect place to toast a special moment or enjoy a glamorous night out. Elegant, elevated, and oh-so-memorable.
This rooftop restaurant and lounge holds a special place in our hearts. Des and Loe had dinner here the night he proposed! Enjoy sweeping views of the Plaza, order Loe's favorite cocktail (the Strawberry Fields, you have to eat the garnish, trust her on this one!), and settle in for a stylish evening. Fun fact: Travis Kelce rented out Prime Social to take Taylor Swift and friends out after winning a game… so you never know who you might bump into.
This trail is woven into our everyday memories. We walked it nearly every day and the sunset views never disappointed (Loe took this pic above isn't it beautiful!). If you’re heading to the City Market on a weekend morning, you can hop onto the trail right from the market area. It’s the perfect blend of nature, city, and Kansas City charm.
A favorite Sunday ritual for us: church, then Art Garden KC. This family-friendly, local open-air art market features small businesses, handmade goods, live music, and so much KC community. Since it’s connected to the Riverfront Heritage Trails, it's easy to stroll over after a walk or morning at the City Market. We absolutely love this spot and think you will too.
We love this church and highly recommend attending the Sunday morning service at 10 AM if you’re in town. It’s warm, welcoming, and full of life. Fun fact: our wedding officiant is the pastor here! If you’re looking for an inspiring start to your Sunday, this is it.
A beloved KC weekend hangout with gorgeous views of the skyline. Percheron is relaxed, scenic, and perfect for sipping a drink while taking in the city. It’s a go-to spot for locals and one of our favorites to bring out-of-towners for an easy, elevated KC experience.
An iconic KC classic, the longest-running burger spot in the city! Pro tip: call in your order early, unless you want to stand in line like a local and make a new friend. We love this place. Try Des’s favorite double cheeseburger with bacon and grilled onions, or the patty melt on rye. And don’t forget the fries!
