FAQs

Q: I've never been to the Rockies but have heard John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High". Should I be worried about acrophobia traveling along the Wasatch Front? A: You're good. Our "Country Roads" are paved and safe.
Question

What Covid guidelines are being followed?

Answer

Now that vaccinations are widely available, we're encouraging guests to come "vaxed" as recommended by health authorities. We'll be celebrating with friends and family within and outside of Utah, with some arriving from overseas, and want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. Utah's Covid guidelines address the use of masks and social distancing, and are in step with guidance issued by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC). To stay up-to-date, check the websites of the CDC's Data Tracker Weekly Review and Utah's Department of Health. At the wedding venue, we'll be following safety protocols set at the Alta Peruvian Lodge to make sure guests can stay as "spaced out" as they desire....

Question

Is the wedding attire formal or what?

Answer

It's a semi-formal celebration we're calling "smart casual". Also "military ready", so if you can and would like to wear your uniform, feel free. Meteorologically speaking....up near the sky in the mountains, day temperatures can run into the 80s. Wedding's in late afternoon, so it could get chilly later toward evening. Snowbirds and Alpen-freunde should have no trouble staying comfortable and warm. All others may want to bring something to bundle up just in case. The ceremony is planned on the Lodge's green grass field. Stilettos may get stuck. Sneakers may slip. Threats of rain unlikely. July tends to be dry.

Question

Can children come to the wedding?

Answer

We are limiting child attendance to children of immediate family. Many thanks for your understanding.

Question

I've never been to the Rockies but have heard John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High". Should I be worried about acrophobia traveling along the Wasatch Front?

Answer

You're good. Our "Country Roads" are paved and safe. Trails are marked and not overly rugged, in case anyone wants to walk or bike up. No snow, so no fear of slipping under a tree trunk or something. If you're into hiking, please see Question number one about "smart casual" and semi-formal attire.... meantime, we are checking about shuttle buses up to Alta and will keep you posted. For those driving cars up, parking is plentiful.

Question

Can we stay overnight at the wedding venue?

Answer

Unfortunately not. The Peruvian Lodge shutters rooms in summer except for opening their premises for special events. Like ours. For overnight lodging, check out the options listed under our Travel pages.

Question

Can we RSVP on line? How and where?

Answer

Click on the RSVP section to let us know your plans.

Question

What should we do if we run into any trouble getting there?

Answer

Please come when you can. Never too late for a wedding party. If you have an emergency that we can help you with, get in touch with Nik's Dad, aka Papa. We'll post his text number closer to the day. He assures us that he has upgraded to Iphone from a pager.

Question

For those of us expert in the ways of social media, will you be tweeting us?

Answer

Still up in the air. We're thinking about a Twitter feed guests can follow. Stay tuned.

Question

What about camping in the mountains?

Answer

We're told by friends that a few spots are left at Alta, the wedding site. Nearby Albion Basin opened up availability starting July 2. Several sites still are available for July 9-11. Go to www.Recreation.gov to book and sleep among the wildflowers.
