The Albuquerque International Airport is approximately 2 hours away from the Mujeres Valley Campground and 1 hour away from Grants. Grants is the closest city with hotels, restaurants and amenities before you get to the campground. There are a number of rest stops, gas stations, restaurants and sights to see from Albuquerque to Grants. Your travel from Grants to the campground will be the most rural with only rest stops with bathrooms and hiking trails. A full tank of gas in compact carts to trucks will get you from Grants to the campground and back without a refill.
We have two (2) twenty to thirty-foot travel trailers that will accommodate up to 6 people. Please reach out to us directly to reserve one of these trailers on our private property separate from the campground. The campground doesn't currently have any structures but can accommodate travel trailers with generators, tents of any size and any number of vehicles.
Bathroom and showers will be available on our private property near the campground.
Each event has a different dress code, please check the events you're RSVPing for details about the dress code. Overall, March is a colder month so plan for warm outfits. If you have more specific questions please reach out to us.
The airport has a number of car rental companies. We recommend Hertz because they honor AAA discounts and they don't require you to have a credit card to rent. Please be aware each car company has different payment requirements for out-of-state renters, if you need help maneuvering scheduling a rental reach out to us and let us know. If you would like to stay on the campground and don't want a rental to get around on your own we can pick you up from the airport, please let us know at least a month ahead of your arrival date so we can make arrangements to pick you up.
The cell service from Albuquerque to Grants is normal. From Grants to the campground, T-mobile is the strongest service provider that will work all the way up to the campground. Verizon and other providers typically lose the ability to make calls or text at La Ventana. There is no internet or power poles on the campground but we do have regular power and internet service at our main living location right next to the campground.
