First Came The Music, Then Came The Magic

February 2014

Morgs and I like to think that we have a fairly cool story, so we thought we'd share it with you folks. In proper modern day fashion, we met on Tinder back in February, 2014 [I lived in Frisco, CO, she lived in Denver, approximately 73 miles apart]. I was instantly smitten. She had fantastic taste in music--meaning it was similar to mine--and she was gorgeous. No brainer, right? At the time, Tinder displayed who your mutual friends on Facebook were, and the only friends we had in common were former students of my late father. Looking back on it, it must've come across incredibly creepy, but I messaged her "Hey, did you go to Fraser High School?" just after a casual hello. Morgan reluctantly replied "yes," which lead to us figuring out that she actually had my father as a high school teacher back in Fraser, MI. Small friggin' world, eh? Our first date was March 29, 2014. A DJ Morgan had introduced me to was playing at a club where she tended bar, (also should note - one of my roommates had to drive me to the date, and then actually joined us on the date--sadly, this thing only allows 2000 characters). We each fell for each other instantly, but were both too stubborn to come out and say it. At the time, I was a full blown ski-bum--a flaky one, at that. I wasn't what most may call a thoughtful, or accountable human. In turn, a potentially remarkable relationship was put on hold for a little over a year... Because I'm an idiot. Fast forward to Summer 2015, we start talking again, and honestly, one day I just came to my senses. I knew she was my soulmate, and the woman I was supposed to marry. I finally made the correct efforts to prove I wanted to be with her (actually at another concert), and she agreed to be my girlfriend. Then in July, 2017, I asked Morgan to be my wife at our favorite camping spot in Colorado, after an absolutely perfect weekend in the woods. I am the luckiest man on earth, and I wish this thing would let me type more. -Timmy Moutrie
