We met on a sunny Thursday afternoon at a local candle making studio on a corner in Downtown Perrysburg. The conversation flowed organically as we chose our scents and vessels. I named my candle "First Date" not knowing that this was only the beginning of many more. While we waited for our candles to cure, we headed over to Lupita's Mexican Restaurant. We laughed and shared stories over margaritas. When Mitchell prayed over our dinner that night it was our first time touching hands, leaving me feeling enraptured. As the evening cooled, we strolled through the heart of Downtown, lights twinkling around us like scattered stars, everything began to feel serendipitous. We had our second date two days later and I met his family a week after that. We've been inseparable ever since. On April 17th, 2024 he planned a romantic date night including dinner and clay making. This was the night he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward a year later, on our anniversary, Mitchell attempted to recreate our first date, but the candle studio was no longer in business. We decided to have dinner and make candles at home afterwards. Back in the heart of Downtown Perrysburg we took a walk down memory lane of that unforgettable evening. Unbeknownst to me, Mitchell had the outside of the vacant candle studio decorated with a Happy Anniversary banner, flowers, and the candle from our first date. He then proceeded to proclaim his declaration of love to me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said of course! Mitchell & I are dedicated followers of Jesus Christ. From the beginning, we have been very intentional in keeping God at the center of our courtship. There have been many prayers on both ends for a relationship such as this one. In each other, we saw not just a partner, but someone who pointed us closer to God. We are so excited to start forever together.
