Airport Options

New York has a lot of airport options. 1. White Plains (HPN) is the most convenient option with a quick Uber to New Rochelle. • Drive time is about 25 minutes and Ubers are available for approximately $60. 2. LaGuardia (LGA) is the most convenient major airport option. • Car travel time is typically around 30 minutes, but up to 60 minutes with traffic. This route includes a $11.19 toll. Driving options include Uber/Lyft (prices vary greatly throughout the day), taxi, or car rental. • Public transportation is also available for LGA<->New Rochelle train station for less than $15 per person, but includes a transfer from bus to train. Plan your route with Google Maps. 3. JFK serves the most locations. • Car travel time varies greatly, typically around 45 minutes, but up to 90 minutes with traffic. Driving options include Uber/Lyft (prices vary greatly throughout the day), taxi, or car rental. This route includes a $11.19 toll. • Public transportation is also available for JFK<->New Rochelle train station for about $20-$25 per person, but includes a few transfers and is not recommended for weary travelers. Plan your route with Google Maps. 4. Newark (EWR) is the furthest away. • Car travel time is about 55 minutes but up to 120 minutes with traffic. Rental cars, taxis, and Uber/Lyft are available, but Uber/Lyft will be very expensive ($150+) during peak travel. This route includes a $18.31 toll when traveling NJ->NY. • Public transportation is a decent option. The departure times are very limited, but you can take the Amtrak Northeast Regional Train directly to/from EWR to the New Rochelle train station (EWR->NRO) for as low as $13 per person (If you buy your tickets before May!) and it takes just over an hour. Depending on the time of day, you may have to take other transportation that includes at least one transfer, takes at least 1.5 hours, and cost around $35 per person. Plan your route with Google Maps.

Train

Metro-North Railroad - New Rochelle Station

If you're traveling to and from NYC, this will be your stop. Walkable to all three hotels, so if you decide to stay in the City and want to take the our shuttle to and from the venue, we recommend walking to the Residence Inn.

Train

Amtrak - New Rochelle (NRO)

This is actually the same station as the Metro-North station, but serves the Northeast Regional line via Amtrak, connecting to Boston, Providence, Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC.

Shuttle

Shuttle to and from the Ceremony

August 16, 2024 4:30 pm

Shuttle will be available to and from all 3 hotels to and from the ceremony/reception. Details forthcoming. If the shuttle schedule does not fit your schedule, Ubers in this area are plentiful.

Travel Note

Toll Roads

Tolls! If you plan to drive in this area, be aware that there are some toll roads. The time savings to and from the airport are usually worth the toll. All other toll roads outside of NYC can be avoided if you are only planning a short stay. If you already have an E-ZPass from any state, you can use it for all NY state tolls. However, if you have an out of state license plate, the toll rate will be charged at the pay-by-mail rate (about 50% higher).

NYC Transit - Subway and Bus

It's easiest to use Google Maps to plan your route! If you are traveling within NYC, all subway and bus transit is paid using tap-to-pay. No need to use the kiosks to buy a ticket. All you need is your credit card or phone. https://omny.info/how-omny-works https://omny.info/about-contactless-payments Special note for first time travelers: If this is your first time tapping a particular bank card on any OMNY reader, you can't use it to pay for other riders on the same trip yet. This is because your bank must approve the transaction before any other fares are paid. Instead, use a separate payment method for everyone on your first trip. Approval generally takes only a few minutes, so you should be able to tap for up to four people on your next trip. However, using separate cards or phones allows everyone in your group to earn free rides. When each person pays for 12 rides using their same card or phone within seven days, any additional rides within the seven days are free, automatically. No sign-ups or apps needed, just tap.
