Honestly, everyone pretty much knows our story by now. We met through a mutual friend and things went from there. What you guys don't know is how he asked...I guess I can fill you in on that. He asked the night of our 8 year anniversary. It's my happy week that week because you have Valentines day, my birthday (last year in my 20's guys), and our anniversary all in one. I had made sausage and potato soup (my favorite) and was going to make dessert. When James got home I really wanted to give him his gift because I'd been holding onto it forever, I said "let's go open your gift" and he stated he would rather wait until after dinner. I refused this and said you can open yours now and I'll wait until after dinner. He opened his and loved it and I loved that he loved it. My love language isn't receiving gifts but if it were giving gifts I know that I'd score high on that one. We had dinner and ate our dessert...I've been into this old show recently called ghost whisperer and I said I was going to watch it while he does whatever. 20 minutes into the show he comes in and hands me the sweetest card, he even has the word time underlined and I even pointed out a spelling error (sorry fiancé). Then he said he had something else for me, told me to pause my show, and got down on one knee. I mean guys, I have been waiting for this moment for years...my reaction was "is this for real?" "are you joking?" "are you sure?". I said yes though after he asked me a second time from not answering the first. I'm happy!
