Our story starts back in 2021 during football season! Katherine had been out with some friends and met up with some other mutual friends to watch the Alabama game. For those of you who don't know, Nashville is a melting pot for SEC fans. After a little while, in walked a guy that joined our table wearing a bright orange Clemson shirt. She was so excited to see someone with an ACC shirt. Katherine later learned he indeed went to Ole Miss and is an SEC fan. They didn't talk until mutual friends Brendan and Katy were talking about their upcoming wedding and the big debate of a band or DJ. Montgomery leaned around to ask what my opinion was, if anyone knows who my father is you know it's always a band. That clicked enough for Montgomery to buy Katherine a drink and so smoothly asked for her number in case we got separated at the bar. (More like he probably didn't remember my name) The rest of history - see you on 10/26 to continue our story!

It was Labor Day weekend and a bunch of my friends were at Rebar for the opening weekend of college football and asked me to come join them. Katherine and I had some mutual friends. When I got to the bar I immediately noticed a very cute redheaded girl. I sat down at the table talk to Katy and Katherine was next to her. Katy and I were talking about she and Brendan’s upcoming wedding when the debate over band or DJ came up. Katy liked DJ and I said band was much better. To settle the debate I leaned across Katy to ask Katherine her opinion. My first words to Katherine were “at a wedding do you like band or DJ better”, and she agreed with me 100% band. We then hit it off and kept talking all while Katy was right in the middle. Finally she got out of the way and I moved over next to Katherine where we kept talking for I don’t know how long. I eventually got up to get us a drink and she asked me to dance. I told her I would meet her on the dance floor but just in case I couldn’t find her, I probably needed her number so I wouldn't lose her. She gave it to me too! All this time she kept asking me to come to her Labor Day party the next day, I had friends in town and we were planning on smoking a pork butt. I told her this and she didn’t believe me. “She said look if you don’t like me and don’t want to come just tell me that” I told her that I really liked her and would try my best to be there. The next day I showed up at her party where she hid from me until I finally went in and found her and we picked up right where we left off. At the end of the night, I asked her if she would go on a date with me she said yes. And here we are!
