Maid of Honor
Belen, my younger sister, represents courage, extraversion, assertiveness, and is outgoing. She was an avid Water Polo player with her sights on becoming a member of the U.S.A. Women’s Water Polo Team. Unfortunately, a double concussion brought a halt to that path. But, in a way, thank goodness because she focused on higher education and earned countless recognitions for her research. My sister has always been there for me in my times of need and in my celebrations. Belen is a lot of fun and can make me laugh no matter the intensity of mercury retrograding. We might not always agree on things, but she can be very entertaining with her arguments and diverse perspective. Belen has embarked on her latest challenge, becoming a veterinarian. A spot she has earned by being tenacious in her studies and by her international volunteer work.
Bridesmaid
Patricia, my caring cousin, has always listened to me ever since she became my pen pal when I turned 5 years old. It didn’t matter if my letters were full of pictures, stickers, or if it was about the latest Movie, she always wrote back to me. Trisha would always have patience in hearing what event in life I’ve experienced. She, like my sister, has always been there for me. My cousin represents a strong shoulder (not just because she’s an avid volleyball player) that I can lean on, and we share a strong family bond. I appreciate Trisha sharing her knowledge with me on the latest computer software or on teaching me how to use the latest cell phone/computer gadgets. We can spend hours exploring the universe or talking about makeup just sitting in front of the fireplace or pool side. I have always admired her logical thinking skills and celebrate her as she explores higher administrative career adventures.
Best Man
Ethan is my older brother and like most siblings, we didn’t always see eye to eye growing up. However, as we got older our bond became stronger. His drive to succeed at everything he puts his mind too and his ability to make friends wherever he goes is something that I've always admired and is a big reason I’m the person I am today. Growing up Ethan and I both had a passion for soccer and camping with Boy Scouts. We still hold both these things close to our hearts and continue to bond over a pint while watching a good match or hiking the trails behind our parents’ house in New Hampshire.
Groomsman
Matt and I met in the third grade and how we became friends is a story for another time but let's just say that it was embarrassing. If we weren't outside skating in the 100 degrees heat we were likely inside playing video games or eating cake bater while watching tv (because this is what teenagers do in the summer when parents aren’t home to tell them what not to eat). Looking back, I don’t know how we didn’t get sick. After High School Matt attended San Diego State University for his undergrad before moving to New York for Graduate School. Although we live across the country, we rarely see each other, nothing has changed.
