So dating apps were never really Lauren’s thing…a few swings and misses and a whole bunch of weirdos with weird messages. Haha. But every time she went to end her subscription with Upward, it was after the renewal date 🙄. This time she set an alarm to remove the app on-time without being charged for another month. Unbeknownst to her, fate was about to strike. A week before deleting, she received a notification from this guy. WITH ONLY ONE PICTURE… iykyk. One picture profiles aren’t typically real or they are bots, or something equally strange. But there was something about this guys face that Lauren couldn’t shake…she swore up and down to one of her friends that she knew him. NOPE. Not one crossed path. But in all that Lauren was interested in who this guy was that was bold enough to only put one picture (and yes she still has a copy of the picture). So she responds and that talking began. 💕
Robby quickly learned that Lauren loved coffee; in her own words she was a coffee “aficionado.” She preferred Rise Up over Starbucks. Robby also learned that Lauren loved to drive home different ways, despite the travel time or gas money, just to look at Christmas lights. So, Robby asked Lauren out to coffee. After a slight hiccup after getting there, the coffee date lasted 30 minutes, then an hour, and before they knew it, it had been over two hours talking and drinking coffee. As they chatted and enjoyed Rise Up in Ocean City, dusk had settled, and Robby made a bold move and asked if Lauren would like to continue the date in OC to go look at Christmas lights. It was an absolute yes. After more time talking, laughing, and enjoying Christmas lights, they parted company for the evening, with the only regret on both their parts was not grabbing a picture together at the Christmas lights. 🎄☕️💕
We have a shared love of Disney and enjoyed our 1st vacation together to Walt Disney World in July of 2022. Fun fact....Robert planned this vacation and started booking it 1 month into the relationship. Some of the memorable moments: - Seeing Natalia's response to the castle for the first time - Riding literally all of the rides in the park at the time except for 7 Dwarves, Peter Pan, and Winnie the Pooh - The Snacks and Starbucks - THE PHOTOS, THE PHOTOS - The mickey ears, matching shirts (Thanks Lauren!), and accessories - Port Orleans and the BEIGNETS ....AND SO MUCH MORE!! After taking the first trip in July of 2022, they soon booked a return trip in January 2023. With the memorable moments including: - Lunch at the Beast's Castle - Fireworks Package in Morocco in Epcot - Seeing a wedding when rope dropping Magic Kingdom - Nighttime light saber photos - Piloting Smuggler's Run - Rise of the Resistance ...and so much more
Robby had big plans to surprise Lauren with a proposal in Disney on a grown-ups only trip to Disney in November of 2023. This plan was to include secretly get Natalia to Florida for a surprise arrival at Disney with family members to distract Lauren so that Robby could pop the question. But sometimes life has other plans...the trip was pushed back and time was spent together with family. On the day he proposed, it was a private moment with love expressed and tears shed. Then the fun began. A new plan was launched - the how do we tell everyone plan. So Lauren put the ring away and hid it in her purse. She and Natalia then went to Caroline's (Lauren's mom) new house to write positive messages on the beams...at which time right before leaving Lauren added a drawing of a ring to one of those messages. Then Robby met up with Lauren and Natalia at The Big Oyster. While waiting for their meal, Robby asked about what hand an engagement ring goes on. Shew y'all, if looks could kill, Natalia was so tired of her dad and Lauren messing with her about weddings. But the way her mouth dropped when her Dad asked Lauren (for the second time that day) to marry him. She was shocked and excited...to which she then told Lauren, "You're stuck." To which Robert lovingly responded, "I don't think you're stuck. You're found." Y'all....this man. Then they visited with Robby's mom Deb and showed her the ring and she was stoked! Then the facetime calls began as they shared their news with Family, Friends, and so many more.
We love Christmas......especially Lauren. So Christmas is always a special time. We love looking at Christmas lights, making homemade ornaments, baking, and watching Christmas movies. Robby surprised Natalia and Lauren with a trip to NYC in between Christmas and NYE. It was a fun time from Times Square to Rockefeller Center to the Harry Potter Exhibit and so much more!
