We reccomend trying to get a vacation rental, like an Airbnb or VRBO closeby in NY. Vermont is not a good option, because the Essex - Charlotte ferry closes at 8:30pm
Plattsburg, NY will have hotel options, but its a 45 min drive which we wouldn't reccomend
