Josh was having a get together at his house and his cousin Jasmyne, who is also my best friend invited me over. At first I was reluctant because I had homework to do and I wasn't in the best mood. Jasmyne persuaded me and I decided to show up. I had vaguely remembered Josh from high school but I hadn't seen him in years. The gathering was intimate, but Josh played it cool and didn't say to much to me. I also played it cool and I decided against my normal aggressive behavior. I called it a night and went home. A week later, Jasmyne and I were hanging out and she said Josh was asking her questions about me as if he was interested. At first I thought she was joking with me. When I realized she was serious, I couldn't hide my excitement and mutual feelings of interest. I asked her a few questions about Josh and decided I would take the leap and message him. After that first conversation it was as if we were destined to be together.
Josh and I were in Anguilla, B.W.I where my family is originally from for a funeral. Though we were in town for a sad occasion, Josh was able to meet majority of my family. My relative who passed away enjoyed life to the fullest and lived every moment like his last. To celebrate him, Josh and I went out that evening. We decided to have a fancy dinner on the beach with my cousins, and drinks after. All night Josh was acting strange but I wasn't able to figure out why. My cousin's fiancé asked Josh when were we getting married and he didn't respond. That aggravated me lol. After dinner, Josh insisted we walk on the beach, though we were dressed nicely. As we got to our next location which was a beach bar, Josh asked me if he could request a song with the Dj. I encouraged him to try his luck. Next thing I know Josh is on the mic, professing his love to me and asking me to come on stage. Even during this time, I was clueless that he was getting ready to propose. Only when he got on his knee did I realize what was happening. I was so shocked, I couldn't even cry, but Josh cried enough for the both of us.
