HOW THEY MET

The Big Flood of 2018

It was may 2018, Zachary was starting his new job with Talking Stick Resort as a dishwasher. Not knowing what to expect he was placed in the fine dining restaurant, Orange Sky. On his first day Zachary did what all dishwashers do. He washed dishes. On his second day, unexpectedly one of the cooks needed help peeling shrimp. Zachary went to the station and quickly introduced himself. He asked her, "So, what's your name?" She responded "Everyone calls me mona, monie, mo, or Monique but, you can call me Beautiful." Monique showed him to simply take the tail off the shrimp's. That was it. In confusion Zachary started to do exactly as Monique showed. Taking each shrimp one by one and only taking the tails off. A few moments later Monique came to check on him and said. "What are you doing?!" he replied "Just as you showed me beautiful." Shaking her head in disappointment she dumped all the shrimp back and said "Start over, your doing it wrong." They continued working, chatting here and there. Eventually, she invited Zachary out for libations at a local bar, The Playa. This is where Monique and Zachary would sit down and have a one on one and the rest is history. As their relationship progressed Monique found herself at Zachary's apartment in Chandler so often he offered for her to move in. As the summer months approach and the two were off to the west side to see Monique's family for dinner. When all of sudden they get a call... Their work has flooded due to the monsoons. It was perfect timing, they got to spend both of their birthdays together. Going back to Nevada and farming for his and adventuring off to California to ride roller coasters till they threw up for hers. She showed him the death museum. He showed her where he grew up. Was it fate? Was it destiny? All I know is Monique and Zachary became best friends during that big flood of 2018.

The Proposal

February 17, 2019

It was Christmas 2017. Zachary was going to surprise Monique with a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana for Juggalo weekend celebration. Zachary knew he was going to propose to her before he even bought the tickets. Knowing that this weekend would be a special place forever. The only thing that there was left to do was to find a place to stay. Monique and Zachary decided to find this little secluded spot that was in the heart of the infamous Bourbon St. Staying only a stone throw away from Armstrong park. The two arrived and checked in to their hotel room as it was nearing midnight. That was only the beginning of their epic trip. The next day was the first day of the Juggalo Extravaganza that is known as "Juggalo Weekend". Zachary had no idea what he was in store for. Monique was in her element as she was grinning ear to ear hanging out and introducing Zachary to her world. On the next day Monique and Zachary continued their journey through the Bayou. Stopping and eating and drinking at every corner. Traveling around trying char broiled oysters, underground crawfish boil, and beignets. Zachary knew he wanted to take Monique across the Mississippi River and then take her to a historical graveyard where he would pop the question. After missing the first boat ride by only minutes because the boat only took hard currency the two missed the hours of when the graveyard was open. Nevertheless this would not stop Zachary from his mission. With tears in his eyes he found a secluded place around the barricades of the cemetery he got down on one knee and asked Monique to spend the rest of her life by his side. Crying herself, she said yes! Immediately after a black cat protecting the graveyard was their sole witness as if their passed loved ones were watching over them. The jubilant couple strolled back into town were they were greeted with a jazz parade strolling through the streets. Mardi Gras weekend was just beginning and so was Monique and Zachary's life together.
